Charles Snelling (figure skater)
Charles Frederick Theodore Snelling ( born September 17, 1937 in Toronto, Ontario) is a former Canadian figure skater, who started in a single run.
The greatest success of six-time Canadian champion was winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in 1957 in Colorado Springs behind the Americans David Jenkins and Tim Brown. At the Olympics 1956 he was eighth. In 1958 he withdrew from the sport back to medicine at the University of Toronto to study. After he graduated, he came back in 1964, was re- Canadian champion and took part in the 1964 Olympic Games as well as in two other World Championships.
Snelling worked as a plastic surgeon, from 1970 to 1977 in Winnipeg and then in Vancouver.
