Charles W. Bell

Charles Webster Bell ( born June 11, 1857 in Albany, New York, † April 19, 1927 in Pasadena, California ) was an American politician. Between 1913 and 1915 he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Charles Bell attended the public schools of his home. In 1877 he moved to Pasadena, California, where he worked in the orchards. He also went into the real estate business. Between 1899 and 1903 he was District in Los Angeles County. Politically, he was a member of the progressive wing of the Republican Party. Between 1907 and 1912 he sat in the Senate of California.

In the congressional elections of 1912 Bell was in the then newly created ninth Election District of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on March 4, 1913. Since he has not been confirmed in 1914, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1915. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Bell took his previous activities on again. He was also secretary of the Pasadena Mercantile Finance Corporation. He died on April 19, 1927 in Pasadena, where he was also buried.
