Charles W. Engelhard, Jr.

Charles W. Engelhard, Jr. (born 15 February 1917, New Jersey; † March 2, 1971 in Boca Grande ) was an American industrialist.

After the death of his father Charles Engelhard in 1950 inherited Charles Engelhard, Jr., the family Engelhard Engelhard Industries Inc. increased the inherited fortune by trading in gold. He invested huge sums in South Africa and also donated to public bodies, such as the establishment of named after him Engelhard Dam in the Kruger National Park.

Engelhard played a significant role in the horse racing not only as the owner of the legendary stallion Nijinsky II; his horses won in the United States a total of 213 victories.

Engelhard was called as a template for the novel and movie character Auric Goldfinger.
