Charles W. Juels

Charles W. Juels (* 1944 in New York City, † 2009) was an American amateur astronomer. It counts with 316 in the period from 1999 to 2009 discovered asteroid the most successful asteroid hunters. He made his discoveries as a retired psychiatrist at the Observatory of Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Juels and Paulo R. Holvorcem discovered together on 28 December 2002 with the help of their CCD camera the comet C/2002 Y1. For this, they received the Harvard - Smithsonian Comet Award 2003.

The asteroid ( 20135 ) Juels was named after him on 9 March 2001.
