Charles Williams (British writer)
Charles Walter Stansby Williams ( born September 20, 1886 in London, † May 15, 1945 in Oxford ) was a British writer and mystic.
Life
He was both a member of the Christian literary circle of the Inklings and the Fellowship of the Rosy Cross, an offshoot of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. He is regarded as the founder of Urban Fantasy; literature is his work of Arthur Machen closer than the JRR Tolkien, another member of the Inklings. Among his friends in particular was one of the author CS Lewis.
