The Charlevoix crater is a large eroded impact crater in Quebec, Canada. Only parts of the crater can be seen at the surface, the rest is from the St. Lawrence River covered. The size of the original crater is estimated to be 54 km in diameter, his age to be about 350 million years. Enveloped is probably an asteroid made ​​of stone with a diameter of at least two kilometers and a mass of 15 billion tons. The 768 m high Mont des Éboulements, which is located right in the center of the crater is interpreted as a central peak of the crater.
