Charley's Aunt is a German comedy film based on the eponymous farce by Brandon Thomas (English Original Title: Charley's Aunt). The premiere took place on 19 January 1956 at the Cologne Ufa-Palast.

Action

Commercial Attaché Dr. Otto Dernburg has come from South America to economic negotiations to Germany. Yet his eye falls on the attractive millionaire Carlotta Ramirez. First, however, he visited his younger brother Ralf, who lives with his friend Charley a rooftop apartment. The two expect the attractive Swedes Ulla and Britta, but are afraid of their strict uncle Niels. Charley's unknown aunt, who wanted to come, can excuse the short term. Britta and Ulla but do not want to stay alone with the two men.

His brother 's sake and to save the evening, Dr. Dernburg dressed as Charley's Aunt. The situation becomes increasingly complicated than then appear Charley's father and uncle Niels. The wrong aunt manages however, to appease both. Finally, still appears the real aunt, when it is none other than Carlotta Ramirez. They are initially abundant piqued because the wrong aunt just wearing that dress that Dernburg Butler has just been stolen. It brings the wrong aunt in very embarrassed, they can fly up not. Only when the women are gone, Dr. Dernburg unmasked. The next day, Carlotta shows itself in the dress, the Dernburg has worn the evening before.
