Charlie Cooke

Charles " Charlie" Cooke ( born October 14, 1942 in St Monans ) is a former Scottish footballer.

Life

Cooke began his professional playing career with FC Aberdeen 1960. 1964 he moved to FC Dundee. In April 1966, the winger signed a contract at Chelsea. The transfer fee was around € 105,000. His debut for the Blues he gave in May 1966 at the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup against FC Barcelona. In 1970 he was English Cup and the following year he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Chelsea. In 1972, the Scotsman was sold to Crystal Palace. After two years with the Eagles, he came back to the blues in 1974. After a further two years at Stamford Bridge Cooke went to the New World to the Los Angeles Aztecs and the Memphis Rogues, for two years. Another year he spent in California at California Surf. International Cooke played 16 times for the Scottish national football team. He made his debut in 1965 against Wales, and his last game he played against Portugal. In 1980, he coached last minute the U.S. team Memphis Rogues. Currently, Cooke has a football school in Cincinnati. The Scot also brought an autobiography about his life out with the name: " The Bonnie Prince ".
