Charlie Waite

Charlie Waite ( born February 18, 1949 in Paddington, London ) is an English photographer and author of over 30 photo books on landscape photography.

Life and career

Waite was born in 1949 in Paddington, attended from 1960 to 1964 the Lord Wandsworth College in Hampshire. From 1968 he worked as an actor in British theater and television for around 10 years. From 1976 on, he studied two years at the Salisbury College of Art photograph was published in 1982 the book " The National Trust Book of Long Walks" the first of now over 30 photo books for Charlie Waite as a landscape photographer, has become famous worldwide. This was followed by photo - exhibitions in London (5 times ), Tokyo ( 2 times), at the Centre for Photographic Art Carmel, California in 1999, on Broadway in New York in 2002, and the OXO Gallery London in the years 2002, 2003 and 2004. In also in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

In 2005 he finished the work on the project "Seeing Scotland " a BAFTA - winning British documentary series in collaboration with his daughter, the director Ella Waite.

He lives in Dorset, UK.

Charlie Waite is the founder and member of the jury awarded annually since 2007 and with 10,000 pounds doped Awards Landscape Photographer of the Year.
