Charlotte, Queen of Cyprus

Charlotte of Cyprus (* 1435/1436 in Nicosia, † July 16, 1487 in Rome) was the daughter of John II King of Cyprus and Helena Palaiologa. At the age of 22, at her father's death, she became queen of Cyprus, she ruled from 1458 to 1463.

Your right to the throne was contested by her illegitimate half-brother Jacob (Jacques Le Bâtard ), Archbishop of Nicosia. After she was besieged for three years in the castle of Kyrenia, she fled to Rome in 1463, after her half-brother was crowned King.
