Charlottetown Islanders

The Charlottetown Islanders are a professional Canadian Junior Hockey Team from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Iceland, the Quebec Major Junior playing in the Hockey League. Play their home games in the franchise in the Charlottetown Civic Centre.

History

The team was founded in 1999 in Montreal, Quebec, where it played as the Montreal Rocket in the QMJHL. 2003 finally saw the move from Montreal to Charlottetown, where the team until the end of the 2012/13 season under the name PEI Rocket was on the ice. The team after Maurice Richard, a former player of the Montreal Canadiens, the ( The Rocket ) was known by the nickname " The Rocket " was named. His famous number 9 is also included in the Team Rocket logo. One of the NHL players who played in their youth time in the Rocket 's, Maxim Lapierre, the biggest success of the franchises in the QMJHL was reaching the Conference quarter-final in 2004.
