Charoen Wattanasin

Charoen Wattanasin ( Thai: เจริญ วรรธนะ สิน; born April 4, 1937) is a former Thai badminton players.

Sporting career

In his home country he won for the first time in 1957 in the men's doubles with Prida Vongakarakul. A year later, he won with the Thai Championships again the men's doubles, this time with Kamal Sudthivanich at his side.

Internationally, he won 1958-1962 in the men's singles at the Malaysian Open, Irish Open, Scottish Open, Norwegian International and the French Open. 1960 and 1962 he was in the final of the All England, but lost both times against Erland Kops from Denmark. In the Southeast Asia Games 1959 he won a silver medal in singles and gold in double (along with Kamal Sudthivanich ) at the Asian Games 1966 bronze in mixed doubles with Tuly Ulao.

In the new millennium, he was president of the Thai badminton association.
