Charterhouse School

The Charterhouse School is a traditional, elitist private school ( Public School ) in Godalming in Surrey in England. The school was founded in 1611 in accordance with the will of the merchant Thomas Sutton at the site of a former monastery on the Charterhouse Square in Smithfield, London, with money from his estate. History

The school was moved in 1872 from London to its present location in Godalming. The designed by architect Philip Charles Hardwick school buildings were erected on a hill above Godalmings.
