Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB ) (since 1998)

(Also called simply "The BOB " ) The Chase Field is a baseball stadium in Phoenix, Arizona. It is the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, a major league baseball team in the National League. Currently, the stadium holds 49,033 spectators.

History

In 1996 started the construction of the stadium. It was after the SkyDome in Toronto, which is now called the Rogers Centre, the second stadium with a sliding roof. In 1995, the costs were originally estimated at $ 279 million. Among other things, the rising steel prices eventually led to massive cost overruns.

The stadium was the venue of four games of the 2001 World Series between the Diamondbacks and the New York Yankees. The Diamondbacks won all four home games and thus the World Series.

Originally, the stadium was named Bank One Ballpark after Bank One of Chicago. However, after this merged with Chase in New York City, it was named Chase Field on September 25, 2005.

In March 2006, three matches of the tournament World Baseball Classic were played at Chase Field.

The Chase Field on July 12, was the venue for the first time in 2011 MLB All- Star Games.

Events

In the years 2000 to 2005, the Insight Bowl was held at Chase Field. This went on into the 2006 Sun Devil Stadium.
