Château de Dinan

The Castle of Dinan actually consists of the Donjon, near the port of Saint- Louis. The Donjon and the door are part of the 2600 m long medieval city walls that still surround the old town.

John V, Duke of Brittany, the construction of the Donjon began in 1384. It is a high tower in an oval shape, which is separated by a moat from outside the city walls and the inner town. The Machicolation ( pitch nose series ) hanging in 30 meters height.

The Donjon now houses the municipal museum.
