History

The first vineyards were created by the Escousse family in the 16th century; the individual plots were named La Dame, Curton, Lalongua, Puch - Sam - Peyre, Ourmatan, Lacoste. On August 1, 1697 Louise Escousse sold the family property to Simon Malescot. Whose family led the winery in its first heyday. When, on February 5, 1827 Jean -Baptiste de Saint- Exupéry ( the great-grandfather of the writer Antoine de Saint -Exupery) bought the estate and the estate still added the plot Loyac, the Château was one of the best wine producers in Bordeaux.

The successor owner M. Fourcade let the property known today as well as the wine cellar to create. After numerous acquisitions - 1880-1955, the winery had a total of five owners who gave up discouraged by phylloxera disaster, mildew and wars - it came into the possession of the English family WH Chaplin. This sold it together with the Château Marquis d' Alesme -Becker in 1955 to the family of Zug. From the Château Saint- Exupéry Malescot only seven hectares were left and the property in very poor condition. The two items were operated together until 1979, and led back to its former quality.

Château Malescot Saint -Exupéry is currently headed by Roger Zuger, Château Marquis d' Alesme -Becker Jean -Claude Block.
