Château Palmer

Château Palmer is one of the most famous wineries of Bordeaux. Since the classification of 1855, the winery is classified as Troisième Grand Cru Classé, the third-highest level of classification. The property is with its excellent products but regular quality competitive with the Premiers Crus and Deuxièmes and therefore often also at the forefront of the prices of all non -premier wines. The wine of this estate is considered at least as much as the so-called " Super Seconds" Chateau Leoville -las- Cases, Château Cos d' Estournel and Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande -.

The estate is located in Margaux, in the immediate vicinity of the place and more famous neighbor Château Margaux, on the " Route du Vin ", the department of Road No. 2

The main building of Château Palmer is one of the most beautiful in the Medoc: High towers loom on every corner of the castle.

The wine

The best ever resulting wines are Château Palmer from the vintages 1961 and 1989. The 1961s is regarded by the internationally renowned wine critic Robert Parker 100 Parker points than perfect wine. A bottle of this vintage is rarely below 1,200 euros to purchase (as of 2005). Due to the exorbitant price now fakes and incorrect Neubefüllungen are known.

The second wine of the estate is called Alter Ego de Palmer, formerly called General de Réserve. Château Palmer is accompanied and advised by the oenologist Jacques Boissenot and his son Eric.
