Château Talbot

The Château Talbot is a well known vineyard of Bordeaux. Since the classification of 1855, the winery is classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé (fourth level of classification ). Is named the estate after the former owner John Talbot, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, who was also Constable of France.

It is located in Saint -Julien. The estate is very large with approximately 100 hectares. 65 % of the area is planted with Petit Verdot Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5%. In 2005, the average age was of the vines is 28 years. The farm produces about 300,000 bottles of wine in middle age.

The wine

Among the vintages of the wines Talbot project from 1986 ( 96 PP) and 1982 (95 PP) produced. However, all the wines from the Bordeaux - known good years are also on Talbot out very well ( eg 2000, 1996, 1985, 1983).

Blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon a white wine called Le Caillou Blanc is also produced to a lesser extent.
