Etymology

The Chatzenstrick / cats trick has neither a cat (Swiss German: Chatz ) to be done with a knitting something. The first part of the word goes to a farmer named Kätzi (also Chätzi written ), who farmed this area. The second part of the word comes from strokes. Here is a field-names (Old High German Strih = strip district, Middle High German line = land ). Thus, the original name was: Chätzis strokes, which means as much as: the land of Chätzi.

The pilgrimage of the Lucerne to Einsiedeln pilgrimage led earlier about the cats trick, what has this registered the nickname cats executor.
