Chaussoy-Epagny

Chaussoy - Epagny ( Picard: L' Queuchoy - Épagny ) is a northern French village with 585 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Noye, in the canton Ailly- sur- Noye.

Geography

The community is located mainly on the left bank ( west ) of the Noye, bordering the community town of Berny sur- Noye of Ailly- sur- Noye. The distance from Chaussoy after Ailly is 4.5 km. The municipality consists of the formerly independent communities Chaussoy, Epagny and Hainneville together, Epagny and Hainneville lie directly on the Noye, Chaussoy something away from this to the department of road D193. A street in the system of Chaussée Brunehaut be found just west of Chaussoy. The railway line Paris -Lille runs through the east of the Noye lying part of Hainneville.

History

The church was built in an old leper and is therefore isolated from the villages. Chaussoy is called 1239 as Saucois.
