Cheb Mami
Cheb Mami ( artist name; Arabic شاب مامي, DMG SAB MAMI ), real name: Mohamed Kélifati, ( محمد خليفاتي Muhammad Chalifati, DMG Muḥammad Ḫalīfātī; born July 11, 1966 in Graba -el- Oued, Saida, Algeria) is one of the most important Raï performer. He has become the world mainly through his numerous duets with international pop stars known ( for example, " Desert Rose " by Sting and " Cosi ' Celeste " with Zucchero ).
On 3 July 2009, the musician was sentenced to five years in prison because he was involved in an attempted forced abortion. A court in Bobigny said, the "Prince of Raï " guilty, threatened his pregnant ex-girlfriend to have imprisoned and tortured. As of March 23, 2011, he was allowed to leave the prison with conditions again.
