Cheboygan County, Michigan

Cheboygan County is a county located in the state of Michigan in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cheyboygan.

Geography

The County is located in the north of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, bounded on the north by Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes, and has an area of ​​2293 square kilometers, of which 439 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Presque Isle County, Montmorency County, Otsego County, Charlevoix County, Emmet County and on Lake Huron to the Mackinac County.

History

Cheboygan County was formed in 1840 from parts of Mackinac County. It was named after the Cheboygan River.
