Style

Chelsea is known for the socialist way of looking at and the raw emotionalism at the first live concerts. The first single We have a right to work, which deals with the problem of mass unemployment, was their biggest success. Content and musically Chelsea remained true to this line on their later releases. Socio-political content - about the theming of poverty and riots - and the criticism of Thatcherism take a dominant position both in the texts as well as in the design of CD cover and booklet of the 1993 -ies album " The Alternative " one. Its compositions are reminiscent in the musical sense of traditional melodic punk rock, as it was played in the late 1970s and early 1980s of them or groups such as Cock Sparrer. Her follow-up album " Traitors Gate " from '94 is seen in this tradition, but is overall in instrumentation and compositions varied as the group operated from other realms of rock music, which gives him a much more modern impression.
