Chelsea-Boot

The Chelsea boot, or even Chelsea Boot is a classic men's shoe model. There is an over ankle-high boots, which is characterized by two side elastic inserts on the right and left of the ankle.

Historical

The Chelsea boot is based on an invention by JS Hall, a shoemaker of Queen Victoria, from the 1830s in London. The model has since been held in the classic men's shoe collections of many suppliers.

In the 1960s, this model became as " Beatle Boot" wide popularity. This name goes back to the pop group "The Beatles ", whose members wore these boots in a variant with a higher and slightly curved heel and a closely tapered toe.

Variants

There are two models, the difference between them but only reveals itself upon closer inspection: First, the model with a shaft section, a short vertical seam shows (see the illustration of black Chelsea boots ) below the elastic inserts, and on the other the Chelsea boat without these additional seams. Since the seams enable processing of smaller shaft parts, both the workmanship is simple and material waste less. Both lead to a lower production and hence the selling price of the model with these additional seams. Shoe connoisseurs prefer the rarely encountered these boots without seams.

The Chelsea boot also exists in a women's version, which is characterized by a somewhat higher and narrower heel and on one, the female foot corresponding women's last is made.

Others

The better Chelsea boots are characterized by the welted style. In order to ensure a better fit of this by no laces to fine matching boot, the shank is flexed prior to attachment to the shoe bottom. Thus, the formerly flat leather boots the later form is something customized. This causes the finished boots a tight fit in the Fußbeuge and thus prevents high Lupfen the heel when walking.

The sewn in many Chelsea boots or rear axle and the front of the upper inner shaft edge pull loop of fabric is used for simplified donning the boot and, since these boots are combined with long pants, not visible because it obscures the trouser leg.
