Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway

The Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway was a British railway company in Swindon and Gloucestershire in southwest England.

The Company was incorporated on 21 June 1836. The first section from Swindon to Kemble and Cirencester was opened on 31 May 1841. The route from Kemble to Gloucester was opened on 12 May 1845. The portion of the settlement Standish to Gloucester was shared with Bristol and Gloucester Railway. 1872 of 2140 mm built in the broad gauge line was converted to standard gauge.

The 68-kilometer long route has been leased to the Great Western Railway from the opening. On 10 May 1844, the Great Western Railway took over the company.
