Chen Jin

Chen Jin ( Chinese陈金, Pinyin Chen Jin; * January 10, 1986 in Handan in Hebei province, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese badminton player.

Sporting career

2004 Chen Jin won the French Open and Polish Open and the 2006 German Open and the China Masters. The Badminton World Championship 2006, he was beaten in the quarterfinals by Lee Hyun- il of South Korea 21-14, 19-21, 21-12.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, Chen succeeded the semi-finals, he was defeated, however, clear in two sentences later the Olympic champion Lin Dan. In the match for bronze he beat the South Korean Lee Hyun- il in three sets, and so won his first Olympic medal.

On August 29, 2010 Chen Jin was the first time in his career badminton world champion. In the final he beat the Indonesian former world champion Taufik Hidayat with 21-13 and 21-15.
