Chen Liangyu

Chen Liangyu (Chinese陈良宇/陈良宇, Pinyin Chén Liángyǔ; * 1946 in Ningbo) is a Chinese politician.

He was from 7 December 2001 to 21 February 2003 the mayor of Shanghai. Later he was a provincial leader of the province of Shanghai in the service of the Communist Party. In this position he was able to feel safe in the party, thanks to the patronage of Jiang Zemin and his Shanghai faction.
