Cherkaske, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Tscherkaske (Ukrainian Черкаське; Russian Черкасское / Cherkasskoye ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine with 4205 inhabitants ( 2012).

The village is situated in Rajon Nowomoskowsk in the central Ukrainian Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 20 km northeast of Rajonzentrum Nowomoskowsk.

The town was founded in 1949 as a settlement for the members of a military battalion under the name Nowe, 1957, she was already elevated to an urban-type settlement, then renamed in 1958 following the re-conquest of Cherkassy by the resident military unit in Tscherkaske.
