Chernushka, Chernushinsky District, Perm Krai

Chernushka (Russian Чернушка ) is a city in the south of Perm ( Russia) region with 33 272 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located in the foothills of the Middle Urals about 230 km south of the regional capital Perm on Tanyp, a right tributary of the opening into the Kama Belaya.

Chernushka is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.

The town lies on the railway line Kazan Yekaterinburg.

History

Chernushka was first mentioned as a village in 1859. With the opening of a railway station in 1919 was to make this a major settlement of the same name, which was awarded in 1945 the status of an urban-type settlement and 1966, the city law.

Culture and sights

In Chernushka since 1975, there is a local history museum.

Economy

Chernushka is the center of the exploitation of the surrounding, discovered in the 1950s smaller oil and gas deposits by the company Tschernuschkaneft. There are also building materials industry ( tiles) and food industry.
