Cherry Township, St. Louis County, Minnesota

Cherry Township is a township in St. Louis County, Minnesota, USA. In 2000 there lived 915 people. The main thoroughfare of the township is the Minnesota State Highway 37, Cherry is the birthplace of Gus Hall, one of the most important representatives of the Communist Party USA.

Management and Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 86.7 km ², of which 85.3 km ² land area over 1.5 km ² or 1.70% is water. The office is located in the Cherry Town Hall which is located on the Minnesota State Highway 37.

Demography

According to a census in 2000 915 people living in 339 households in Cherry Township, of which 258 families. The population density is 10.7 inhabitants per square kilometer. According to the U.S. racial classification 99.02 % of the population White, 0.55 % Native American origin, 0.11 % Asian origin and 0.33 % were mixed. Hispanics were 0.11 % of the population.

Of the 339 households out of which 36.6 % residents, who were both younger than 18 years, as also lived with their parents.
