Chery A5

The Chery A5 is a car model of the Chinese car manufacturer Chery Automobile. It is a four-door notchback sedan in the compact class.

The vehicle is offered with four different engines ( 1.5 liter with 80 kW, 1.6-liter with 88 kW, 1.8-liter with 97 kW and 102 kW with 2l ). The 2-liter version is available with an automatic transmission, the other equipped with five-speed manual transmission. For safety, there are standard ABS and EBD against and two (surcharge four) airbags.

The Chery A5 ISG is the first Chinese hybrid vehicle.

At the 2008 Olympic Games Chery provides a total of 50 hybrid vehicles based on the A5. The vehicles will thereby emit about 12 % less CO2.

A licensing model of Chery A5 is the Russian Vortex, which has been produced since 2008 by the Taganrog car factory in Izhevsk in the Russian and Icelandic market. Furthermore, the A5 is also manufactured in Egypt from former Daewoo car producers Speranza - there called Speranza Chery A516 - and two Ukrainian works as Chery A5 and Chery Elara. In the Turkish Mermerler Otomotiv, however, the model rolled off the assembly line as Chery Alia.
