Cheshire is a town in New Haven County in the U.S. state of Connecticut, United States, with 29,300 inhabitants ( 2004). The metropolitan area has a size of 86.5 km ².

History

Cheshire was founded by directly immigrant Europeans, and was part of Wallingford. 1780 Cheshire started his own business and for the next 170 years it remained a small but independent city. Cheshire 's nickname is ' Bedding Plant Capitol of Connecticut ' since many of the largest bedding and balcony plants nurseries Connecticut are located. With the ' Cheshire Academy ' has found their home here also a prestigious private school.
