Chester City F.C.

Chester City ( officially: Chester City Football Club ) - also known as The Blues - was an English football club based in Chester, a town in the North West of England, near the border with Wales.

History

The Chester City Football Club was established in 1885 following a merger of the two clubs Chester Rovers and Old King's Scholars. By 1890, the club played only friendly matches, before he joined the Combination League. In 1895 the club won the Cheshire Senior Cup, 1889 lost to the old sports field. 1901 found the club a new venue at the Whipcord Lane and won the 1908 Welsh Cup and in 1909 the Combination League. From 1908 the club played at Sealand Road, since 1990 in the Saunders Honda Stadium.

Last Chester City played in the Conference National. Since the club but due to financial irregularities were deducted 25 points, a league appeared excluded. The club was disbanded on 10 March 2010. As the successor of the club Chester FC was formed.
