Chester Gorman

Chester Gorman ( born March 11, 1938 in Oakland, † June 7, 1981 in Sacramento ) was an American anthropologist and archaeologist.

Chester Gorman grew up on the dairy farm of his parents in Elk Grove, California, on. He graduated from Sacramento State University and later at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, where he completed his Master's degree and was awarded his doctorate.

Chester Gorman worked mainly in Southeast Asia. Among its main activities included the excavation sites in Isaan Ban Chiang and the Phimaen Cave in northern Thailand. The Phimaen Cave is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Hoabinhian culture.

Chester Gorman died on June 7, 1981 in Sacramento from cancer.
