Chesterfield Islands

The Chesterfield Islands ( also Chesterfield Islands, French Iles Chesterfield) are an archipelago in the South Pacific belonging to the Coral Sea. They are located west of the reef islands between Australia and New Caledonia, to which they belong politically. Since 1878, they are under French rule. The Chesterfield Islands consist largely of small, barely above sea level, towering islands and reefs. The islands have guano.

In a narrower sense it is at the Chesterfield Islands ( with Bampton ) to an atoll. In a broader sense, the south of it Bellona reefs are expected to form a separate Atoll.
