Chevrolet Kingswood

The Chevrolet Kingswood was a station wagon, the Chevrolet in the model years 1959 and 1960 offered. The name reappeared in 1972 - Even in the model years 1969. The car was based on the rear-wheel drive GM B platform.

In the model years 1959 and 1960 there was the Kingswood with six-cylinder or V8 engine. He was one of the cluster models of Bel Air, as well as its sister model, the Parkwood. During the Parkwood but only two benches had (6 seats), offered the Kingwood three benches with 9 seats. From the equipment both suits were in the middle segment, better equipped than the simple Brookwood, but not as good as the top model Nomad.

In the model between 1969 and 1972, the Kingswood was the wagon version of the Impala and it gave him only with V8 engines. Again he put the middle range between the simple models equipped Townsman and Brookwood and the luxurious top model Kingswood Estate dar. with imitation wood Facilities During this time there was the Kingswood with 6 or 9 seats; 1969 and 1970 was an electrically retractable rear window in the latter standard, available in the former upon request. 1971 and 1972 the power windows were offered as standard in both models.

Located in the model years 1971, added the Turbo Hydra-Matic, an automatic transmission with standard equipment, thus the outdated, manually shifted three-speed transmission was eliminated. Even before almost every Kingswood of the late 1960s and early 1970s, has been ordered with this automatic transmission.

In 1973, Chevrolet models Kingswood and Kingswood Estate as well as its sister models, a Townsman and Brookwood.
