Chi Alpha Campus Ministries

Students for Christ (short SfC ) Germany and Europe is a national and international network of Christians in higher education, with the aim to motivate, to a credible Christian, the intellectual challenges and permeates all areas of life. Joined the Students for Christ, the Federation is free-church Pentecostal churches.

History and organization

The club was founded in 1981 by Anita and John Koeshall at the Technical University in Munich. John Koeshall had been sent in 1980 by the Christian work Chi Alpha Campus Ministries to Germany.

In Germany there are currently at 13 institutions of higher learning groups. The association is currently headed by Kirk Priest. In other European countries there is a growing number of SfC groups. The students come from a variety of faiths and denominations, such as the Catholic and Protestant Church or the various evangelical free churches, and communities. In addition to the federal Head SfC there is a regional manager in the Northeast and one in the southwest of Germany. The individual groups are usually of a management team and employees, as well as the visitors. The local groups are led by the students themselves, who work as volunteers. SfC funded entirely by donations and is legally organized as a registered association. The SfC federal office is located in Waldkirch, close to Freiburg im Breisgau.

Statement of Faith and goals

As a basis of faith, the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed was chosen next to the Apostles' Creed, which connects the world Christianity. SfC is neither church nor church, but sees himself as a supplementary work to support the work of local churches where. Events and Offers

  • Open Evenings: These are weekly meetings of the various university groups, usually with music that is used for worship, a special theme and subsequent community.
  • Discipleship groups and home groups: They serve to further personal interaction, prayer and faith growth.
  • Actions of the individual groups, such as Trips, bike rides, walks, evangelistic outreaches and cottage weekends
  • Pastoral care for students
  • Cooperation in semester opening church services and college days with other Christian university groups, such as SMD, Campus Crusade for Christ, German engineer Christian Association, navigators, ESG and KHG
  • Regional seminars on selected topics on faith and life
  • Once a year New Year's Conference.

In addition, SfC - Europe offers seminars and the European Conference in changing European countries.
