Chian Yai District

Amphoe Chian Yai ( Thai: อำเภอ เชียรใหญ่ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Nakhon Si Thammarat province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 780 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Pak the Phanang, Hua Sai, Cha- uat and Phra Kiat Chaloem. All Amphoe located in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

History

Chian Yai was born on February 1, 1937 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by being separated from Amphoe Pak Phanang. On November 3, 1947 Chian Yai has been promoted to Amphioe.

Management

Amphoe Chian Yai is divided into ten municipalities ( tambon) divided, in turn, in 98 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Chian Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียรใหญ่ ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Chian Yai, Tha Thong and Khanan Lamchiak. .

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
