Chiang Dao District

Amphoe Chiang Dao ( in Thai: อำเภอ เชียงดาว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northern part of the province of Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts ( from northeast clockwise): Amphoe the Fang, Chai Prakan, Phrao, Mae Taeng Chiang Mai province, Amphoe Pai of Mae Hong Son Province, and Amphoe Wiang Haeng again from Chiang Mai. In the north of the Shan State of Myanmar lies.

The National Park Pha Daeng is located in the district of Chiang Dao.

This is also the source of the Maenam Ping, the largest river of the province of Chiang Mai.

Management

The circle is divided into seven subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 91 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chiang Dao consists of parts of the tambon same name.
  • Mueang Ngai also consists of parts of the tambon same name.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" ( TAO - administrative units ).
