Chiang Klang District

Amphoe Chiang Klang ( Thai อำเภอ เชียงกลาง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Nan. The Nan Province is located in the northeast of the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Thung Chang who, Pua, Tha Wang Pha and Song Khwae. All Amphoe located in the province of Nan.

History

Chiang Klang was posted on June 20, 1968 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the four Tambon Puea, Chiang Klang, Chiang Khan and Rai Na Luang Amphoe Thung Chang were separated from. On November 16, 1971 Chiang Klang has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Chiang Klang consists of six sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 59 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chiang Klang ( เทศบาล ตำบล เชียงกลาง ) consists of parts of tambon Chiang Klang, Puea and Phaya Kaeo,
  • Phra Phutthabat Chiang Khan ( เทศบาล ตำบล พระพุทธบาท เชียงคาน ) consists of parts of the tambon Chiang Khan and the whole Tambon Phra Phutthabat.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.

Note: The secret of forming Geo numbers were among the tambon which now belong to the Amphoe Song Khwae.
