Chukwudi Odiah or Chidi Odiah ( born December 17, 1983 in Port Harcourt ) is a Nigerian football player.

Career

Odiah played as a teenager until 1999 in his hometown of Port Harcourt for Eagle Cement (now Dolphins FC ). Turn of the year he went for half a year for Julius Berger FC to Lagos, who won this season's championship in the Premier League.

At just sixteen years after he left Nigeria and went to Moldavia, where he played four years for the series champions Sheriff Tiraspol. In the 2003 /04 season he came, however, only used twice, so he moved to CSKA Moscow in Russia. There, the right-back was immediately regulars and became interesting for the Nigerian national football team, where he made ​​his debut on 5 September 2004.

It was followed by two very successful years in the Russian capital club and in 2005 he won with the club not only the Russian Championship, but was also a UEFA Cup winner. Then he suffered injury problems and for two years he fought for the return to the root formation, which in 2008 again succeeded. In the national team he had not determined its position, although he played regularly. In qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2006, the missed Nigeria ultimately, Chidi Odiah came seven times for use, four years later, he played only five times and only the injury-related failure of the second outer defender Yusuf Mohammed secured his place in the squad of Africans for the Football World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
