Chief Financial Officer

The function name Chief Financial Officer ( CFO) of the Anglo-Saxon equivalent in German about the commercial directors of a GmbH ( Limited Liability Companies Act § 35 ) or Chief Financial Officer of public companies ( § 76 para 1 AktG). In the course of internationalization that term is used partly in German and other countries, although it has no legal significance here, but only an additional designation is.

In the U.S., the CFO has been introduced by the CFO Act of 1990 for governmental institutions. In Germany assumed by the Commissioner for the budget this function in government agencies.
