History

Almost all of the well-known children's songs in Germany from the 19th century. Alone Heinrich Hoffmann von Faller life (1798-1874) wrote the lyrics to approximately 500 children's songs. Even Ernst Anschütz (fox, you have stolen the goose of 1824) or the pedagogue Friedrich Froebel ( Bunny in the pit of 1840) should be mentioned among the text designers.

From the very old children's songs still are some in Carl Orff's Music for Children ( Orff Schulwerk ) and in old song books (German folk song archive or Des Knaben Wunderhorn by Ludwig Achim von Arnim and Clemens Brentano ) to find. In the 1950s and 1960s, the composer Hans Poser devoted much of his work to the children's song and composed numerous well-known songs such as one ele- Zwele - Trelefant and fairy songs. In the 1970s, new songs ( I Trat today before the door ) (The old Moorhexe ) were, for example, by Günther Kretzschmar ( The Seeschlangensong ), Heinz Lemmermann and Margaret and Wolfgang Jehn it. After that, the singer-songwriter came: Fredrik Vahle ( Beet ), Dieter Süverkrüp ( excavator driver Willibald ), Rolf Harris ( The bird wedding ) and Volker Rosin ( The singing kangaroo ) or in Switzerland Gerda Bächli ( Traumschiffli ), Roland Zoss ( Xenegugeli; Slumberland ), Andrew Bond and Stärneföifi. In East Germany: Gerhard Schöne and Reinhard Lakomy ( Jule never washes ) ( Traumzauberbaum ). With globalization, many children's songs from around the world have joined in Germany.

1970s to the 1990s

In the period 1968-1984 about several directions ran to the subject of music for children side by side:

  • Songwriters were long broken new ground with their music for children; There were a lot of new songs for children. The new compositions were often produced in broadcasting and distributed through school and children's radio.

The term songs for children, did not know you.

  • Many publishers took advantage of the then- 68-movement in West Germany for corresponding publications. The plans -Verlag, for example, introduced in 1973, the pair of singers Christiane and Fredrik with reality-based children's songs before, the Rowohlt publishing steered with his number at rororotfuchs new songs, poetry and prose for children and adolescents.
  • Besides, there were many experiments with sound experiments in kindergarten Margrit Küntzel -Hansen, Mauricio Kagel with a project at the WDR and many others.

The turning point

Since the early 1990s, many publishers parted from their proven authors and halted their program. At the same time all the kids music series such as The Children's Choir, ed Gunther Kretzschmar, were sold at SCM Hänssler to other publishers and disappeared. In its place the new songs for children came with their productions.

The radio transmitter built gradually their children to programs. The school radio disappeared at some stations completely out of the program, the children's radio has been reduced. So even the big kids radio plays declined. Instead, distribute its remaining radio educational programs today as a podcast.

Today

Some broadcasters maintain the children's song explicitly. In the radio and podcast versions with vocals and instrumental offered to sing along.
