Chiles Valley AVA

Chiles Valley AVA ( recognized since 1999) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California and is part of the regional Napa Valley AVA. Chiles Valley is nestled in the territory of the Vaca Mountains to the northeast of the Napa Valley. Due to the shielded position in the east, the area is sufficiently achieved by the cooling winds of the Pacific with the fog otherwise frequent. Therefore, one can the climate of Chile Valley already described as continental and the day and night temperatures are higher than in any other appellation of Napa Valley.

Chiles Valley was named after Joseph Ballinger Chiles, who received the land rights of the Mexican government in mid -19th century.

Viniculture

The most common varieties of Chiles Valley Zinfandel are, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
