Chilpancingo de los Bravo, often shortened to Chilpancingo, the capital of the state of Guerrero in southern Mexico. The population is approximately 187,000.

History

Chilpancingo was founded in 1513. During the Revolutionary War, the Congress of Chilpancingo there took place, where the demand for independence from Spain was held for the first time in writing.
