Chimgan

Chimgon or Chimgan and Chimgan ( usbek. Chimgon; Russian Чимган ) is a recreation area and winter sports area in the western reaches of Tianshangebirges in Uzbekistan, near the town Chirchiq in the Tashkent Province.

Chimgon is located at an altitude of 1,600 meters, about 90 km east of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The western foothills of the Tianshan also the name Chatkalgebirge and form the national park of the same name. The highest mountain is the Great Chimgon with 3,309 meters, which is covered with snow all year round.

The climate is, like, very continental character throughout Uzbekistan. The winter is cold and in the summer the temperatures climb to 30 ° C. The annual rainfall is about 650 mm.

In winter sports area there are some old hotels of Soviet times and holiday homes. The ski season lasts from December to mid-March.

In the summer months, guided walking tours are offered through the mountains.
