China Construction Bank

The China Construction Bank (CCB, Chinese中国 建设银行, Pinyin Zhōngguó Jianshe Yínháng ) is one of the four major commercial banks of the People's Republic of China.

Since October 27, 2005 the CCB shares, worth more than 8 billion dollars are traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

History

The China Construction Bank was established on 1 October 1954 as the People's Construction Bank of China (中国 人民 建设银行Zhōngguó Rénmín Jianshe Yínháng ). On March 26, 2005, it received its present name.

The CCB suffered like other Chinese banks for a long time under political credit policies, inefficient management, many employees and " bad loans ". To remediate she received from the Chinese government cash injections totaling $ 22.5 billion.
