China Metallurgical Group Corporation

China Metallurgical Group (MCC ) is a Chinese company based in Beijing. The company is a state-owned mining company, which mines, among other things copper, iron ore, nickel, cobalt, zinc, aluminum and lead.

End of 2007, China Metallurgical Group was awarded the contract by the Afghan government for the exploitation of the largest copper deposit in Afghanistan. It is estimated that in the deposit Aynak are about 13 million tons of copper.

End of September 2010 MCC has signed a contract with the Afghan government to build a railway from Pakistan via Kabul to Uzbekistan. Through them, the Aynak mine is connected, so that the export of copper ore is facilitated. The construction cost five billion dollars and the completion of the line is to be in five years. The company will then take over the operational management.
