China Railway Engineering Corporation

China Railway Engineering Group (China Railway Group ) is a Chinese company based in Beijing. The company went public on 20 November 2007 at the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

CREC is the third largest construction company in the world and specializes in rail infrastructure. It builds and operates various railway lines in China, benefiting from an investment initiative of the Chinese government. The foundation dates back to the year 1950. The Group China Railway Engineering Group Co. has 31 subsidiaries, in which around 284,000 employees operate.

The company is not to be confused with the Chinese company China Railway Construction.

Foreign activities

End of October 2011 was to Mieso met with the Ethiopian Ethiopian Railway Corporation ( ERC), an agreement on the construction of a 317 km long section of the piece largely disused narrow gauge railway Addis Ababa - Djibouti in standard gauge. The costs in the amount of 1.2 billion U.S. dollars ( USD) are partly financed with a loan from the Chinese government. The track is part of a 2015 planned network of 2,395 kilometers of new railway lines.

In Indonesia, the China Railway Group participated in late 2011 for a contract which provides for the construction of a 385 km long coal train in Central Kalimantan with a volume of USD 2.3 billion in years 2012-2015.
