China Railways CRH380A

China Railways High Speed CRH380A, short CRH380A (also: " Harmony Express", German: " train of Harmony" ) is a new generation of high-speed trains of China Railway High-speed program (CRH). It is, the first fully developed in China high-speed train was developed by the China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited. The CRH380A is designed for a regularly scheduled cruising speed of 350 km / h as well as a short-term top speed of 380 km / h. During a test drive on the route between Shanghai and Hangzhou train with 416.6 km / h setting a new record for standard railcars turned on, which has now been improved to 486.1 km / h. An experimental version of the train is said to have erected in the summer of 2012 with 604 km / h world record for rail vehicles.

Development

The development began in the first quarter of 2008, during the test phase of the CRH2 -300 (later CRH2C ). The CSR led to these trains by over 1000 technical test series that dealt with 17 different aspects such as dynamic power delivery, the design of the pantograph, the aerodynamics and traction. The results of these experiments were directly introduced into the design of CRH380A.

In September 2009, the Chinese Ministry of Railways decided the order of 100 trains of 16 cars and 40 trains of 8 cars for the Chinese manufacturer Sifang (CSR Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock ). The value of the contract amounted to 45 billion RMB (about 5.1 billion EUR ).

Under the original project name CRH2 -350, the design office of the CSR dealt with four areas of responsibility: The schematics, engineering, construction and practical testing of the vehicles. More than 20 draft designs were compared. For a scheduled press conference in the Sifang Locomotive factory was presented to the public the final flow-optimized design under On April 12, 2010. In May 2010, of which a scale model of the China Railway Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo Park ( IRJ July p5 ) was issued.

Test phase

The prototype left the work of Sifang in April 2010. Equipped with eight-car train was tested on the circuit of the China Academy of Railway Sciences from April 26, 2010. First test runs on the high speed line Zhengzhou - Xi'an began on 7 June 2010.

The first production copy of the train, the CRH380A -6001, was delivered in September 2010. In the regular passenger transport, the train was used on a trial basis from September 28, 2010 at the daily service. This test phase took place on the 170 km long high -speed line between Shanghai and Hangzhou.

In a test drive on 28 September 2010, the CRH380A reached a record speed of 416.6 km / h On 3 December 2010 the CRH380A presented at the speed of 486.1 km / h again to a record.

Use

The CRH380A has been used since September 30, 2010 in the tentative passenger service on the 280 km long route Shanghai -Nanjing. Since 26 October 2010, the CRH380A is used on the routes Shanghai-Hangzhou and Shanghai -Nanjing planned.

On 30 June 2011, the entire 1318 km long high-speed Beijing- Shanghai was put into operation, the travel on the train with five stops in just five and a half hours. It was officially opened on 14 July 2011.

Numbering scheme
